bareMinerals

it's holidays! which means it's time to splurge! :O okay not good. after my shopping spree that day i'm going to cut down on my spending already. spent way too much the past week. mostly on...food?! yeah good food is worth the money, but still?! super poor now :( okay no more no more! :P

but this is one purchase that i'm really really happy about! :D shopping always makes me happy of course, but it comes with heartache from the money spent haha. but after using the bareMinerals stuff i bought, i'm really glad that i purchased it! so far i've only used it once, and i'm not exactly an expert of makeup so i'm just sharing my experience (: but i think it's a really good investment, judging from my first usage of it.

ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation

i went to sephora intending to buy only the original SPF 15 foundation and the handy buki brush. only to realise that the foundation along costs $58 and the brush is also $50+ which is freaking expensive! :( instead, the staff showed me the customizable 8pc get started kit, which was $115. yes, still super expensive :((( but the thing is, for a few dollars more, i could get 6 additional items! so after a super lot of consideration...i decided to get it. i literally started at it for super long, i walked away and walked back, and thought for damn long before finally buying it. sigh. expensive :( okay, no more spending already. SERIOUSLY. anyway i've bought everything i need :D at least for makeup. haha. the staff at sephora was quite friendly and helpful, and she helped me to find a shade that matched my skin colour and showed me how to use the different products in the set. it includes three brushes (the full flawless application face brush, maximum coverage concealer brush and flawless application face brush), your shade of original/matte ($118) foundation, prime time foundation primer, Warmth All-Over Face Colour, Mineral Veil and a CD which teacher you how to apply the products.

Full Flawless Application Face BrushMaximum Coverage Concealer BrushFlawless Application Face Brush
the foundation is a lovely tub of powder which provides a light-medium coverage when using the full flawless face brush. for a medium-heavy coverage, they recommend using the kabuki brush instead. i wanted to get a kabuki brush!!!! but it wasn't included in the set. rah :/ but anyway, this is my first time trying mineral makeup and i really really like it!!! :D i'm awesomely surprised. i never thought that makeup could feel so good :D normally i hate using makeup cos i think it kind of screws up my face. i feel that it makes my skin worse >.< which is quite true right? especially last year when i had to use it everyday cos of work. so now that i don't have to, i hardly ever put on makeup, except on special occasions. which is why i hesitated buying so much makeup cos i'm worried i won't have much chance to use it! but no matter, there are definitely more chances to use makeup nowadays (: and after using my mineral makeup, i felt that my skin actually became nicer!!! :D :D or at least, it didn't feel worse, which is pretty good already! :D i should still not use it too often though! but it's really nice! i'm super amazed. i mean, when i see all the statistics on the box & website, but of course i didn't really believe it. only after i tried it (just once!) i do think there is some truth to it! (: the one i bought was the original foundation, but there is also another option which is the matte foundation (+ $3)  which is supposed to eliminate shine, minimize pores and promote cell turnover. haha up to you to see which one you prefer! (:

Prime Time Foundation Primer
the primer comes in a smaller tube. i didn't try it though cos i've already got another primer (will write about that soon :D)

Warmth All-Over Face Color
the warmth all-over face colour is a bronzer which lends a warm glow to your face. evidently i'm not someone really experienced with makeup cos i just discovered that bronzer and blush can be used together :P i always thought that it was either one or the other. but then i realised that cos they're put on different parts of your face, they can actually be used together! :P teehee. anyway for this product, use a really tiny amount! if not it'll look like those awful fake tans i think O.O

Mineral Veil
mineral veil is the finishing touch for all the makeup (: it gives a flawless finish by minimizing pores and stuff. i couldnt really tell the difference much but i think it does make the look more put together! and the texture is gorgeous! :D
