The Lokal

Could sandwiches really taste so good? I couldn't really wrap my head around the idea till I tried those at The Lokal. I had heard about the greatness of these sandwiches, and I was really excited to be able to try them for myself! And they really lived up to expectations (: The menu is short and sweet, with daily specials on the chalkboard behind the counter. 

I knew Sam would order the Roast beef on rye sandwich ($19) and my heart sank a little when he did. I wanted to order that!!!!! But anyway I made him share it with me in the end. Hehe. It was an insanely juicy beef sandwich that was oozing goodness and flavour, complemented with naturally sweet caramelised onions, watercress and a grain mustard creme fraiche. 

This was literally the tastiest Roast Chicken Panini ($15) I've ever tasted!! Okay, I have to acknowledge that a huge reason for this is probably because they used chicken thigh (I believe) instead of chicken breast, which makes it less healthy. But it was so delicious! The sandwich was huge (super wroth the $15) and came with crispy pancetta (which made it even tastier) and balanced with fresh tomatoes, leafy greens, avocado and aioli. 

I heard so much about the Sticky Date Pudding at the cafe as well! But guess what, we were surpassingly stuffed after our sandwiches! I am really tempted to return to try it though ;)
