so in love with this soundtrack! :)))) i was really surprised to find that i enjoyed this movie so much! i actually went into the cinema not knowing what it was about at all. but i truly enjoyed it (: not only were the songs nice, but i really liked the storyline! reminds me of how much i loved disney shows as a kid :') i really watched almost all (okay, a large majority) of the disney shows that came out in cinemas. used to watch them over and over again on those CDs, or tapes (haha gosh that was so long ago) because i loved them so much!
always a princess at heart ;) i love all these happy endings! this story was really quite touching, and even though it wasn't as 'colourful' as its predecessor, Tangled, but it was no less majestic with its beautiful icy colours! anw i think it's gonna stop showing in cinemas really soon, so go catch it if you can k! (:
i watched les miserables on friday night at 10.15pm and after that i couldn't sleep in peace haha. it was such an intense show omg. to the point of being slightly freaky. but it was amazing anyway. it was chilling, so deep and probably one of the most difficult to understand movies i've watched this year. thank goodness i read the synopsis right before the movie if not i'm pretty sure i would have been lost. some parts were slightly boring and many of the songs freaked me out (especially the first song omg) but WATCH IT. some of my friends said it was better than the original musical, which means it was really good. the acting was simply amazing, all the actors were so into their characters!
especially anne hathaway :O #1. i didnt know she could sing so well #2. her rendition of i dreamed a dream was just breath-takingly, shell-shockingly amazingly good, and when you watch her sing it in the movie it's like she poured her entire emotions into the song and it was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes.
have i said this a million times? - i'm always so amazed at how time flies :) when you're having fun, it just zooms past and it all becomes a slight blur, but i remember the details. every single bit of bliss that i've been having for these past five months ^^
celebrated our 5th month with the perfect date :) actually it was just a really simple date, like what we always do, but the best part is just spending time with each other properly :) so glad that his crazy projects are finally overrrr, just in time for our celebration! we watched skyfall (i'm so glad i understood the movie this time..i've been watching too many movies i don't understand this year) and it just reminded me of how much i enjoyed watching movies with him! :))) plus the movie was great, which was a bonus :D
here's the trailer for those who wanna watch it :)
went for dinner at saveur! :D like finallyyyyyyy!!! i've been wanting to try out that place since forever. so happy we finally got a chance to try it ^^ affordable french food! of course the foodie in me got eggcited! it's really popular, and they don't take reservations so be prepared to queue. but it's totally worth it!! definitely a must-try. i would go back there ten more times just for their angel hair pasta (erm yeah, it's a french restaurant, but their pasta was the highlight for me! :P). oops and the silly photo above is me trying to look greedy but i think i look retarded instead (plus the fringe issues :/ haha). but i love love LOVE the pasta!! gonna do a food review here also (hence the long post) cos i've got posts scheduled till all the way to next february already! i think it's time to start combining my food posts into others if i can haha.
this is the awesome angel hair pasta with tiger prawn and lumpfish caviar ($6.90) that i was raving about!! it was cooked in the most interesting manner! the thin strands of angel hair were very unlike the silky version i'm used to - instead they were very al dente, with a firm bite, that was refreshingly delicious! the prawns were cooked really nicely as well. and the caviar OMG. they just explode with a burst of flavour in your mouth! and together with the little green chilis (i think they're chilis, right? i couldn't really tell), all the various dimensions were brought together beautifully. i had to keep myself from gobbling the entire thing down because i wanted to savour every bit of it properly.
the duck confit with orange segments and saute shitake ($9.90) was done beautifully as well. i loved how the skin was crispy with just the right amount of fat to make it juicy, while the meat inside was super tender! i wonder how they did it! i'm not really a huge fan of confit, so i wasn't super crazy over it (unlike the pastaaaa :D heh) but it was still good! and the mushrooms were really juicy and flavourful as well. ohoh! and the mash ^^ nice and buttery. yumms.
the dessert sadly, was a letdown for me :( but only because i dont like the taste of anything almond-flavoured. sighhhs. such a pity! the pistachio panna cotta ($6.90) sounded absolutely delightful. but it was just tainted by the almond taste!!!! >:( don't get me wrong, i love almond NUTS, but anything else with the almond flavouring (like almond paste/jelly omg...) is just yucky. okay i'm biased :P but oh well! if you like almond, i'm sure you'll love this!
anyway, this place is super awesome. it's a must try. god forbid even more people crowding up the place, but honestly i dont think it's gonna make a difference because the queue is so long already! haha, but dont let that deter you, try it! :) tell me how the chicken roulade is if you tried it!! that was something else i was interested in. btw, the portions are slightly smaller than usual, but i quite liked how it let us try a greater variety ;) *greedy pig*

awww and the darling boy bought me flowers! ^^ five roses for our five months heh :') aren't they prettyyyyyy :) even the little puny one at the corner, i think they all bloomed so beautifully! haha i dont think i'm making it easy for him at all cos i have no idea what flowers i like actually, so let him experiment to see what different kinds of flowers he can get :P but these are really gorgeous :D
i've always been a happy person. but i think these few months, i've exceeded my happiness levels by leaps and bounds that i never knew existed :) and hopefully this will be the way many many many more months to come ^^ haha it's pretty funny how i used to think that it was ridiculous that people celebrate monthniversaries, but then i thought, hey why not? when you're this happy, everything deserves a celebration. your love deserves a celebration. even when there are troubles, take the time to remember why you love each other :) anytime, anywhere :) xx
OMG THIS IS SO FREAKING AWESOME YOU HAVE GOT TO WATCH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
haha after watching two movies which i didn't understand, i was getting a little tired of watching movies actually. so not worth it. but STEP UP IS SUPER GOOD. i would watch it all over again just for all the dances! this has got to be my favourite movie of the year ^^
it totally evoked my feelings like when i watched step up 1! :) step up 2 was such a disappointment i didnt bother to watch the one after it. but THIS. this is damn awesome! :) besides the dance, the storyline is pretty interesting too! i thought the concept of the flashmobs were so cool! and they were executed so well too! the dance moves were superbbbb. although im not really into street dance, but this was damn good - their isolation and everything was so neat, and it was just super duper nice! and of course the contemporary dance (esp the duet) - loveeeeeeees <3 haha okay i think i'm setting really high expectations here :P but i really loved it! good dance shows are just the best best ever :) :)
i was surprisingly impressed by this show! i went in not really expecting much, thinking that being an all-star cast movie, it'll just be a lot about the stars in really random roles (which was sort of the case) and not much plot. but i was wrong about the second part. the show was actually really quite meaningful! i especially liked the part where claire morgan (played by hilary swank) made the speech about the ball drop. i've been combing youtube to find it, but i can't!!!! RAWR. can someone help me please????? i really want to hear her speech again. if you have it, comment with the link/the actual speech (even better!) k? thanks! :)
the show is so gross though!!!! O.O omg like seriously. when my friends told me it was gross, i didnt think it was gross in this way O.O ewww. but the story behind it is nice i guess! :) as my friend said, it's about life and love which most of us can identify with. supposedly it's quite a guy-ish show? but i think not just guys can identify with it. i guess the whole point is how guys and girls can't seem to understand each other -.- it was sooo wasted at the end when they couldnt end up together :'( just because he didnt know she liked him back. somehow, it's just so difficult. when you meet the one you like you can't express it properly, and they never know. and when someone likes you but you dont like them, then errr, haha i also dunno what to say. all depends on fate i guess.
yay exams are over and it's time for movie marathons nowwww (: haha. puss in boots was the first movie i watched, right after finance last tuesday. WHEEEE! such a funny show. puss in boots is SO CUTE as a baby. and there are actually quite a few values in the show which are good for kids to know! haha. watch this!!!! (:
i also wanna watch arthur christmas and alvin & the chipmunks 3!!! we saw the trailers before the movie started. so fun :D
i love this show!!!! it's adapted from the book, and the dances are just so beautiful. omg. anything with dance :)) it's a story on communist china, at first i thought it was really cheena (the whole front part of the movie is in chinese). it's about a boy who got selected to be part of the national ballet group. their trainings look super tough!! but it's really cool too (: anyway, it's super funny how the government insisted on having a political ballet style, which is really weird-looking - think guns & uniforms in a ballet?! then the protagonist gets the chance to go to america on an exchange programme, where he gets to dance in the kind of ballets which he loves (the nice kinds!!! like don quijote and swan lake). but after that, he has to return to china, which he doesnt want, resulting in a whole lot of drama and ends in him defecting from his country and not being allowed to return to china. while he worries about his family, he can't do anything about it, except to focus on his dance. and i found what he said quite touching, "When i dance, i dance for my family". (: in the end, he is reunited with his family when they manage to make a trip out of china to watch his performance in america.
okay this is pretty unbelievable, but i finally watched a movie after HALF A YEAR. omg. how embarrassing right. the last movie i watched was Harry Potter, last november! i was almost wondering whether i would go on without watching movies until the next harry potter movie came out :P thank goodness, there seem to be a string of nice movies coming out sooooon, so i think i'll be able to catch a few more these holidays (: YAY :D
i'm really glad i watched thor! i went into the cinema being completely clueless of what the movie was about, but it turned out to be really good! :D it was super action packed and fun to watch (:
I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on Thursday with Ngan! (: Wheeee! this is the first time i've ever watched any of the harry potter movies on the first day it is out. okay, technically it's the second day, but wednesday was a sneak preview so it's not counted! :p
anyways, it was a pretty long movie, more than 2hours. it covered more than half the book! i heard that part 2 will only be 1.5hours long ): the show was pretty comprehensive which was good, but there was very little action! :/ and it was slightly too emo for my liking O.O but overall it was not bad i guess! (:
Watched this at Bugis Junction Shaw Cinema on Saturday night with mummy & papa! (: Haha the other two had to study, and now since my holidays are here (whoopee! :D :D), i was the only one who could go. Anyway, they weren't interested! Honestly, i didn't really understand most of the show :P the only reason why i wanted to watch it so desperately was because...............
.....of SHIA LaBEOUF :D
<3333333333 He is so sweet in the show. Gosh i'm swooning already. Haha i have the tendency to do that (: (: (: He's awesome (:
P.S. Btw the seats at Shaw were really comfy!! Much better than GV (i hate the seats there). but...they were kinda stinky :( what is with my affinity for awful smells that night?!
