My first ever eyebrow threading experience! :D i have had my eyebrows tweezed before at other places, which is good for removing all the stray hairs. i’ve even tried it myself and boy, wasn’t it painful! xP haha.
i’ve always admired people with nicely shaped eyebrows. mine are…kind of flat? not a very nice shape, and my arch is not very defined. also after all the tweezing, the hair seemed to grow back in a somewhat messy manner, so i wanted to try out browhaus to do some eyebrow shaping. when i called up the store at wheelock place, i asked about the difference between threading ($16), tweezing ($18) and both ($20). the lady on the line explained that threading was mainly to remove the stray hairs and tweezing was to create a more defined shape. i then opted for both, and made my appointment.
the day of my appointment, i arrived at 10am, and the store was barely opened. i guess it’s cos there were these curtains in front of the store that made it look half-closed? anyway, i decided to enter after awhile and was told to fill in a form for new customers. then i met eileen, my eyebrow technician (? i have no idea what to call them :P), and after looking at my eyebrows, she told me that i only had to do threading. i appreciated that she recommended me a version which she felt was more suitable for me, and was cheaper, instead of making me pay extra for what i didn’t need.
eileen then proceeded to ask me to hold up a mirror while she explained what she was going to do to my eyebrows. she taught me how to pull on my lids to make it taut (i think it’s to prevent cuts) and started to do the threading. it was slightly painful, but not as bad as i imagined (: it was over in less than 10min O.o lol. i was quite surprised actually, when she told me she was done. i travelled all the way to wheelock place for something that took less than 10min -.- but anyway, i was very happy with the results :D i don’t have any pictures (i’m shy! :P haha) but my eyebrows are now neat, and they have a more defined shape (: YAY!
eileen also informed me of a package they were having, which is $105 for 10 sessions. but i was pleased that she was NOT pushy at all, and told me that she was just telling me this for my information and that there was no pressure to sign on the package (: she advised me to come back every 1-2months to neaten my brows.
this is definitely more expensive than those in little india (i think it costs around $5 there?), but it’s much more accessible and classy x) haha. i’ll have to see whether my meager student allowance can allow me to go there regularly though. for now, i’ll enjoy my pretty brows (: wheee
if you know of any place with good eyebrow threading/tweezing at an affordable price, please share it with us! :D
