In Memory of Mdm Kwa Geok Choo

I just read all the eulogies at Mdm Kwa Geok Choo's funeral this morning in The Straits Times. All of them were just so touching that i couldn't help but cry while reading some of them. I never knew anything about her until now, but reading all the eulogies today made me hope to become like her someday.

She was an extraordinary woman who was successful in many aspects. But what i admire most about her is her love for her children and husband. All the eulogies described her as a loving mother and wife, and i that is what i look up to. I'm so touched by the love between her and MM Lee, and i wish that someday i'll be able to experience such a wonderful relationship.

"Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! It is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose Worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom."

This was Shakespeare's Sonnet 116, quoted in Li Shengwu's eulogy for his grandmother. I'm not really one who is into poems, but i felt that this sonnet was really beautiful.

Mdm Kwa Geok Choo left behind a legacy that touched many hearts, and she will always be remembered.
