Living along Upper Thomson Road means that i have the luxury of chosing from a variety of prata joints. And the funny thing is, my family tends to go to a super random prata place that is much further down from where we live - somewhere along sembawang road instead, because mummy prefers the SOFT prata there. there are generally two types of prata - the soft floppy kind (which is apparently the type which my parents grew up with which is why mummy prefers it) and the crispy type. i love prata. so i don't mind either type xD the one at Casuarina Curry is the crispy type, and it's hilarious how everyone seems to ask me whether i eat prata for breakfast everyday since i live near Casuarina Curry -.- haha if i did, i'll be 10kg heavier please! :/ btw i've been eating desserts for the past three days. NO MORE!!!! gosh. i feel so unhealthy tsk. no more.
i haven't eaten thosai for the longest time! there was a period of time where i was off-prata (don't ask me why, it's ridiculous) and i ate thosai instead when i went to any prata place. i sort of miss it, but i love prata so much more that i can't bear to order thosai instead! :p but paper thosai ($2) is nice! when it's crispy. sometimes it's kinda disappointing >.< but today it was nice! (:
the garlic prata ($1.50) at Casuarina is awesome - it's the best garlic prata ever! it doesn't have the bits of garlic usually found in garlic prata, but the smell and taste is completely infused into this paper-thin, ultra-crispy prata!! it's superb! the only problem is that it is slightly difficult to cut...? i have the tendency to look like a cannibal when i eat prata haha :p
the crispy prata kosong ($0.90)!!! <3 this is lovely - compact and fried to crisp perfection (: need i say more??
look at how messy my plate is! that's what happened when i was attempting to cut my garlic prata. because it was so difficult to cut, my fork slipped and all the sugar got flung across half the table, all over my plate and onto my milo cup :p heehee :p see how clumsy i am... :p
ever since i tried fish curry, i fell in love with it (: i've never like any other type of curry with my prata ever since i tasted fish curry (even though back then, i hadn't even learnt to appreciate fish!). it's just so wonderfully fragrant! so much better than dahl and definitely a million times better than (GROSS) mutton curry. eww. i always have BOTH sugar and fish curry when i eat prata (: it's a quirk of mine. one piece of prata dipped in curry, the next piece in sugar, and it goes on (: such a nice balance :D
