this is a super pretty place! i was first attracted to it by their Gelato Frenzy - a whopping 24 scoops of ice cream fo $99.90! it's meant for a party of 6-10pax and just sounds awesomely wonderful :D i'm melting!
but we didnt eat that of course. haha have to find a huge group of people for that xP but i would LOVE to try it someday.
well the name of this place already suggests what its specialty could be, and we definitely could wait to give their chocolates a shot ;) the Au Chocolat hot fudge ($9) is a deliciously rich, luscious cup of thick chocolate that runs down your throat smoothly with each mouthful. you'll have to resist gulping down the whole cup at one go! or maybe, just order another one ;)
au chocolat has an all-day breakfast in which almost every single dish sounds so tempting!! it's really quite difficult to choose :P i loved the sausage and mushroom quiche ($18) for its crisp pastry and piping hot interior, which was so tasty!
the beignets ($15) are these adorable mini donuts, fresh and warm, dusted with sugar and drizzled with au chocolat fudge sauce. ooh sounds so sinful and saccharinely sweet ;) if you like a sweet breakkie, this is definitely for you!
the veggie ($18) is a super healthy-sounding omelette with tomatoes, avocados, red onions and mushrooms folded into it. pretty amazing how the flavours all blended in really well with each other! :)
the aebelskivers ($16) was another sweet breakfast dish which i absolutely loved!!!!! wow, i really have to rave about this one :D danish pancake pockets that were fried to a crisp, with a slightly breaded exterior, filled with crunchy Granny smith apples compote infused with cinnamon. absolutely delightful - you have got to try this!!
and as always, the ever-boring me (haha :P) with my eggs benedict again! the au chocolat benedict ($18) is special though! instead of the usual hollandaise, au chocolat does its own variation infused with red wine and chocolate! :O now doesnt that sound decadent! together with the yummy poached eggs, with a the perfect runny consistency when pricked, bacon, spinach, tomatoes atop an english muffin, this is one wholesome breakfast ;)
