Soho Coffee

imagine myself bleary eyed in the morning before my 8.30am class. looking for breakfast somewhere around school...haha okay that's not likely to happen cos i always reach just in time for class only. no time to hunt for breakfast. but anyway, if you need breakfast, this is a good place to go! (: they also have a counter in Cheers right next to my school's SOB which sells gourmet sandwiches, hotdogs and yogurt! (: whee!

i'm always super fascinated about coffee art!!! doesn't it look pretty? (: and i'm always so amazed how they do the coffee art. it's gorgeous! and they just 'pour' in the design with such a fluid motion. looks so easy but obviously it isnt! haha.

the barista was a really nice guy who was really enthusiastic about showing us the various designs he could do (: and he is really passionate about his work! spent a really long time talking to him about his work and coffee.

my hot chocolate ($5) was really pretty too right! xD

most of the items on the menu are served all day long, which means that you can have your pancakes or toast at any time of the day! (: but their best ever breakfast set ($14) is only served from 8am-11.30am! this comprises the eggs benedict ($12 ala carte) and coffee/tea. this is a huge breakfast set that will probably last you from morning all the way to around tea time! a perfectly balanced and healthy meal comprising the beautifully poached eggs (i particularly enjoyed the melted cheese and sauce that came with it!), toast, sausages, grilled tomato, mushrooms and veggies. i felt that the taste of the mushrooms were sorta strange, but that was probably due to the fact that they were cold already (from waiting too long for the photos). it was interesting how they served those veggie shoots (argh suddenly i can't remember the name!). it's an acquired taste i suppose, but i found the grassy taste surprisingly refreshing and rather enjoyable!

also popular at the restaurant is the best ever burger ($10), with a juicy beef patty, onions, melty cheese, bacon and eggs. as its name suggests, this is a really popular burger, and i would be willing to come back for more! (:

my bacon and egg toast ($12) was delicious as well. i love their french toast for the light sweetness, and it's not very oily which makes it feel very healthy. the eggs too, while being smooth and soft, were not overly creamy. this place focuses a lot on healthy food, which is why their counter at Cheers sells yogurt instead of ice cream, and this is definitely something that will make me want to come back again and again xD
